To enhance the range of research and training activities, the university has established an Institute of Mobilizing Knowledge for Economic Development and Peace (IMEP) which has a center for research, training and consultancy. The center has its sole objective to undertake need-based training and to carryout researches on socio-economic importance. BBU has recently experienced rapid development and expanded its popularity amongst the public throughout the country and the region. Today the university has a reputation for excellence in selected fields including Business administration and management, Languages, Information Technology, Tourism and Hospitality, Political Sciences, Law, and especially in Civil Engineering in which our graduates have landed in good jobs.
The university has also been selected for inclusion in the list of universities that have achieved an outstanding performance in meeting the requirements of the "ACC Assessing Committee Plan" done by a pool of ACC assessors in 2007 and was then awarded the full Accreditation Certificate from ACC for its Foundation Year Program.
As regards to international links, BBU has recently become the member of ASAIHL (Association of Southeast Asian Institutions for Higher Learning) and UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and Pacific). Joining both associations would enable the university to gain more experiences and enhance international understanding among students, staff, teachers and the management from all university members across the regions. Plus, the university has currently incorporated its post graduate programs with the Sikkim Manipal University in India to internationalize most programs in field of science and technology.
